When Janet started her textile business, her enthusiasm was such that Lee could not help but get the bug.
He has taught many basic weaving classes to individuals and at public events.
In his wee workshop, Lee manufactures weaving frames, including our now famous Dinky Loom #lovemydinky, peg looms, weaving sticks, scarf looms, hand spinning spindles, blending boards and occasionally has time to fix things around the house!
He also manages this website and processes the shop purchases.
In 1995 Lee helped Janet convert their former cow byre into a shop and café. They developed a successful craft mail order business along side that. After selling this business aka 'The Byre' and moving home, Lee continued to support Janet with Create With Fibre but also had various employment in education and training, advice and guidance and advocacy work.
After a stint as a part-time professional Handyman, Lee went full-time into Create With Fibre.
Lee makes weaving frames, blending boards, spindles etc as well as teaching simple weaving at events. He also manages the website and helps with marketing and social media.
Lee is now sourcing new Textile Retreat venues and developing this side of the business. He also organises the hospitality side of the events and his home-made soups are famous at Janet's home classes!
He is a keen photographer (especially flora and fauna), environmentalist, natural historian, and loves getting away in their small campervan. With Janet, they enjoy being a WOOF & Workaway host and working in their polytunnel and garden.
Lee also enjoys a bit of cycling (as well as Janet!), hill-walking and reading.
Having adopted 3 kids in amongst all the foregoing, they are now also proud grandparents x3!
