Knit, crochet, chat, spin and drink wine in front of the wood burning stove at the wonderful, 4 star Old School B&B.
Meals and accommodation are included. The Old School is in Ayrshire, Scotland. It has a wonderful atmosphere and great views. Each of the four, lovingly restored bedrooms is a whole classroom with its own seating area. The Old School has a Taste Scotland award and a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence. Retreats are normally for 4-7 people.
These small, intimate Knitting Retreats are organised by Janet and you will have her individual guidance for projects and learning. She will have contact with you before hand and help you decide what you want to work on during the retreat. All yarn and fibre arts are welcome and people often knit, spin and crochet on the same retreat. Everyone is working in their own way, on their own project anyway!
Terms and conditions:
The £100 deposit must be paid and this form completed in order to book a place. The £100 deposit is non refundable unless the Retreat is cancelled. The balance of payment is due a month before the Retreat takes place and the whole payment is then non-refundable.
If you are unable to attend due to ill health etc, you can book one alternative date. You must book this within 6 months, but the date itself can be within 12 months of the original retreat you were booked on. If you are unable to attend on this second date, the payment is forfeit.
If you book and then cancel three courses and/or retreats in any 12 month period you will not be eligible to book on future courses or retreats. If you fail to turn up for any retreat you will not be eligible to book again unless there was a serious, last minute emergency that prevented you from getting in touch.
You should take out cancellation insurance to cover ill health, emergencies etc, as you would when booking any holiday.
More about the venue for Ayrshire Retreats:-
The Old School, Dalleagles, New Cumnock, Ayrshire, KA18 4QW
The Old School Dalleagles is set in a beautiful rural location. It is surrounded on three sides by mature Scots Pine and birch trees, with a paddock for our chickens and geese. As a converted primary school, The Old School is a unique bed & breakfast near Cumnock. The classrooms now provide very large bedrooms, all ensuite, with space which is seldom seen in B&Bs. No expense had been spared in the conversion, with log-burning stoves adding to the atmosphere in the lounge. This is bed & breakfast accommodation at its best!"
If travelling on public transport, there is a local train station at New Cumnock and a bus from there goes straight to the B&B door. Just ask if you need advice. Some guests have come from as far as Bedford by train.
